Established in 1638

Kopke is the oldest Port Wine House in the world.

Before the demarcation of the Douro Wine Region in 1756, and founded by Nicolau Kopke, the company evolved from a diverse business to become a renowned producer of Port wine.

Caneta da KOPKE

Kopke's heritage is founded
on experience and devotion.

Matured in wood over decades and even centuries, these
wines are curated across generations.

Their monitored ageing in oak barrels and the ancient
traditional methods by which they are produced make
these wines genuine symbols of their time:
fascinating wines
with fascinating stories.

Library
Its extensive library
of old wines, which includes remarkably
rare White and Tawny ports,
has long established Kopke's
reputation as the maker
of some of the very best
Port wines.

And thus, we present The Library Collection, made up of a Very Very Old Tawny, a Vermouth, and a Quinine, all produced at the beginning of the 20th century and carefully selected to celebrate the legacy of Kopke. Captivated by all the pieces that make the whole of its historical archive, we were inspired by the exclusivity, the values, and the identity of the brand itself and have recreated and reinterpreted some iconic elements, resulting in an original, aspirational, and unique collection.

The wines of this collection are three very different styles, albeit all types of Port wine, and have aged side by side in our cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia in 400 litre barriques. This ensemble opens another chapter in our history whilst delivering the incomparable quality of this iconic brand.
